A Message from the Founder
The story of Philippine Christianity is a subplot of her colonial history.
The God of the Bible was presented by waves of religious missions as a western deity whose music, language, architecture and overall culture was decidedly western. Thus, to be a Christian, a Filipino needed to abandon his cultural heritage and westernize! The indigenization, or more accurately the Filipinization, of Christian liturgy is an important step in re-affirming the identity and dignity of Filipino Christians. To these two endeavors, namely the faithful presentation of Filipino culture in dance and the decolonization of Christianity, KALOOB dedicates its loving ministration!
Mabuhay ang kultura ng Bayan!

While the insignia of KALOOB can be taken as a graphic representation of a person dancing, it is actually an ancient Tagalog script for the syllable “KA”. The point above it gives it the form of a dancing person. In the Filipino language, “KA” connotes a sharing that promotes oneness. KALOOB uses dance to promote a unified understanding of a diverse culture. Integral to the mission and vision is the establishment of a true Filipino identity that is defined by a solid cultural heritage.
